Markel appoints Charlotte Major as Senior Claims Adjuster for Professional Indemnity

London, 20 January, 2026 — Markel Insurance, the insurance operation within Markel Group Inc. (NYSE:MKL), today announced the appointment of Charlotte Major as Senior Claims Adjuster – Professional Indemnity, effective immediately.

In her new role, Major will be responsible for resolving complex PI claims for clients operating across multiple professions, including accountants, construction firms and insurance brokers. She’ll work closely with claims manager, Rachel Tighe, and the PI underwriting team on renewal business – advising on claims scenarios, contract and policy wordings, and claims data, ensuring clients continue to receive tailored and best-in-class coverage.

Major will also collaborate with managing agents and service providers across various jurisdictions to make sure PI claims are settled efficiently from inception to resolution. In addition to these responsibilities, she’ll develop and mentor claims handlers in her team and strengthen broker relationships to deliver a more focused, value-added claims service.

Based in Markel’s London office, Major will report to Rachel Tighe, Claims Manager – PI at Markel International.

Major possesses more than 15 years’ experience working in litigation and pre-litigation roles, with a focus on motor, employers’ liability, public liability and professional indemnity claims. Previously, she was a PI claims adjuster for PI managing general agent (MGA) and AmTrust Europe subsidiary, Collegiate Management Services Ltd, where she assessed and resolved complex claim matters, often to tight deadlines, while managing junior members in her team. Major’s efforts subsequently resulted in her promotion to Senior Claims Manager – a role she held for two years – before joining Markel.
