Mumbai, 4 March 2026 – Markel Insurance, the insurance operations within Markel Group Inc. (NYSE:MKL), has announced the appointment of Ravi Jain as Business Development and Distribution Lead – India, with immediate effect.
Based in Mumbai, Jain will partner closely with brokers, and other distribution stakeholders to uncover new commercial opportunities and expand Markel’s presence and footprint across India. His role supports Markel's commitment to investing in India and building strong local partnerships through market expertise.
Jain will also help shape Markel’s broader international distribution strategy by leveraging his extensive broker network and deep market knowledge to enhance client service and strengthen Markel’s regional presence. He will report to Deepika Mathur, Managing Director – Markel India.
With more than 18 years of experience in India’s insurance and broking sector, Jain has held several roles across sales, underwriting and reinsurance in leading organizations, including HDFC ERGO, and IndusInd General Insurance.
