Director, Construction and Engineering
Anna Woolley joined Markel as Director of Construction in November 2025, bringing with her c.20 years’ experience in the London Market. She has held senior underwriting roles at Zurich, CNA Hardy and GCube, and most recently served as Head of Construction at Axis.
At Markel, Anna is responsible for building and leading the new Construction & Engineering team. Her role includes developing an international portfolio, driving profitable growth and innovation, and strengthening relationships with brokers and clients worldwide.
Anna holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).
Anna lives in Surrey with her husband, three children and their lively cocker spaniel, Leo. When not managing the busy schedules of her young family, she enjoys running and long walks with Leo.
