Senior Underwriter, PFR
Daisy Galvin joined Markel in April 2020 as an Underwriter in our Financial Institutions and Fintech team. Her career began as an Underwriting Assistant in the General Liability market before transitioning into Financial Lines, gaining experience at Lloyd’s syndicates including Newline and HCC.
Since joining Markel, Daisy has progressed to the role of Senior Underwriter and is recognised as a market leader across four core product lines: Investment Managers FI, Traditional FI, Offshore FI, and Fintech, with a particular specialism in the Australian market.
In May 2025, Daisy relocated from London to Sydney to lead the development and growth of Markel’s Financial Institutions solutions in Australia, working closely with broking partners to deliver tailored support and build the local portfolio.
She holds a BSc (Hons) in Human Geography from the University of Reading and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Outside of work, Daisy enjoys travelling and exploring new cultures. In her spare time, she takes on physical challenges such as half marathons or socialising with friends and family. Her proudest achievement to date is reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro in 2019.
