Dominic Dahmen

Dom joined Markel in 2018 in the Underwriting Support Team, having started his insurance career at P&I club, Steamship Mutual. He moved to the Fine Art & Specie team in 2020 as an Underwriting Assistant and has since progressed to Senior Underwriter in 2025.

Dom’s responsibilities include underwriting the Fine Art and Specie book, generating new income, assisting management with the growth and development of the book and managing rating models and other underwriting tools.

Dom holds a BSc (Hons) in Human Geography from Cardiff University and an Advanced Diploma in Insurance.
