Julian Brown joined Markel in August 1991 as an Assistant Underwriter in the Professional Indemnity team. He has more than 35 years' experience underwriting professional and financial risks and specialises in offshore, fintech and investment managers insurance.
He is a Senior Underwriter in the Financial Institutions team, responsible for the Offshore account. His strong broker network ensures clients always receive an exemplary service, reinforced by his team’s longstanding established market presence. He has developed a number of new policies and products for Markel and is always open to new ideas.
Julian is a Chartered Insurer, attaining an Advanced Diploma (ACII), and holds BA (Hons) in Business Studies.
Julian lives in Kent with his wife, and has two daughters. When not at home, he can be found cycling the North Downs, playing golf, or in a local pub. His favourite book is ‘The Lincoln Highway’ by Amor Towles.
