Richard joined Markel in 2012 as a Senior Underwriter in our Marine & Energy team. Prior to Markel, he worked at Ark Syndicate Management, Catlin and Wellington Underwriting. Richard has been in the market since 1981 and is now part of the Cargo team at Markel. In addition to working with new and existing clients, Richard oversees operations for the team with regard to compliance, underwriting review and exposure management.
Richard attended Dartford Grammar School and is happily married with three sons. His favourite pastimes include watching rugby, skiing, walking the dogs and off-road driving.
