Senior Underwriter
Robert joined Markel in November 2021 as a senior underwriter in our Surety team within the TCPRS division.
He began his career as a commercial controller at Allianz Trade in 2010, working at both UK and European divisions. He then moved into financial controlling within the UK Finance department before moving into Surety in 2015 as an underwriter, which was followed by a promotion to senior underwriter in 2017. He moved to Markel in November 2021 as a senior underwriter.
His current responsibilities include a specific focus on broker relations, growth in our Surety portfolio and servicing client requirements.
Rob holds a BBA in Business Administration and an MSc in Management Science from the University of Kent and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
Rob lives in Surrey with his wife, son and two daughters. He is a keen cook and enjoys playing golf in his spare time. He enjoys most other sports but particularly cricket, rugby, football and Formula 1.
