Sucheng Chang joined Markel in July 2025 as Managing Director, Asia Pacific. He brings more than 15 years of experience in senior leadership roles across the region, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, for Aon, where he led the firm’s strategic expansion and operational growth across key Asian markets. Prior to Aon, Sucheng spent over 13 years at Liberty Mutual in a range of strategic roles, including Chief Distribution Officer for Global Retail Markets East and Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Insurance Singapore, where he oversaw distribution strategy, market development and regional performance.
At Markel, Sucheng is responsible for leading the strategic direction and performance of Markel International’s Asia Pacific business, which operates from its regional hub in Singapore and offices in Australia, Hong Kong, China, India, Malaysia and Dubai. His focus is on maximising profitable growth, strengthening broker and client relationships, and advancing Markel’s strategic ambitions across the region.
Sucheng holds an MBA from Yale University and a BA from Boston University.
