Markel strengthens APAC PVT expertise with appointment of Henry Ang as Head of Terrorism, Singapore

Singapore, 25 June, 2026 — Markel Insurance, the insurance operations within Markel Group Inc. (NYSE: MKL), today announced the appointment of Henry Ang as Head of Terrorism, Singapore, with immediate effect.

In this role, Ang will be responsible for driving the profitable growth and development of Markel’s Political Violence and Terrorism (PVT) portfolio in Asia Pacific, alongside Rahul Shah, Head of War and Terrorism in MENA, and Rahul Gaglani, War and Terrorism Underwriter in India.

Reporting to Wanshi Lin, Head of Singapore, Ang’s appointment will ensure continued momentum in delivering specialised expertise in political violence and terrorism risks, particularly to clients navigating an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape.

Ang joins from Everest, where he served as Head of Political Violence & Terrorism, Asia. He brings more than a decade of underwriting experience, specialising in Terrorism & Political Violence across APAC, complemented by Property underwriting expertise, with strong capabilities in assessing complex exposures and managing large portfolios for multinational clients and cedants.
