We understand not every claim is the same and will work tirelessly to ensure you receive the appropriate resources to resolve your claim in a timely manner. Step one: Reporting a claim

Immediately report all claims to your agent or to Markel Claims online, by phone, by fax, or by email. Visit the report a claim page to find the best option for reporting your claim. Once your claim is submitted, you'll receive confirmation and a claim number, which can be used to access your claim information. A Markel representative will be assigned to your account in order to answer your questions and resolve your claim.

Including as much information as possible will allow the process to move forward quickly and minimize the impact of your loss. Information needed may include policy number, insured and claimant names with contact details, date of loss, location, description of loss, current location of insured items, and all pertinent documentation necessary to properly evaluate the claim (police reports, photos, etc.).

Step two: Assessing the damage

After your claim is reported, a dedicated claims professional will be assigned to help navigate the claims process. Our claims teams have experience within their unique product lines and have access to external and internal advisers to help resolve your claim, including lawyers, loss adjusters, recovery and risk specialists, and other third-party services, depending on your specific needs. Our teams focus on collaboration and teamwork to resolve your claim.

Step three: Settlement and resolution

Once a settlement is reached, we will issue your claim payment. We hold ourselves to high ethical and professional standards, consistently providing prompt, fair, and equitable claims service. Your claims experience may vary depending on your specific situation and is handled on its own merit. Whether you are a business, organization, or individual, our goal is to assist you when the unexpected happens.

Get Pharmacy services

After you file a claim, download your temporary prescription form via our pharmacy partner, myMatrixx. Bring this completed form and your prescription to your local pharmacy. Injury-specific medications will be honored for up to five days. As soon as your claim is accepted, a permanent myMatrixx prescription card will be sent to your mailing address. Please anticipate three to five business days for the card to arrive.
