RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Markel Corporation (NYSE: MKL) announced today the appointment of Nathan J. Warde as executive underwriting officer, effective immediately. In this role, Mr. Warde will oversee Markel's property lines operations in the U.S.
Mr. Warde has almost 30 years experience in diverse underwriting and insurance operations and most recently was president for Aspen Insurance U.S. and chief executive officer for Aspen Specialty. Prior to joining Aspen Specialty Insurance Company, he was executive vice president for Arch Insurance Group where he led the strategic development of Arch's entry into the U.S. specialty property marketplace.
