RICHMOND, Va., Dec. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Markel Global Insurance, a division of Markel Corporation (NYSE: MKL), announced today that Alan Rodrigues has joined the Excess Liability team based in New York. Reporting to John Boylan, Chief Underwriting Officer, Excess Liability, Rodrigues will serve as Managing Director and assume responsibility for developing a middle-to-upper-middle market product. The appointment was effective November 30, 2015.
Boylan welcomed Rodrigues and said, "I have known Alan for years, and he has a great reputation in the marketplace. We are delighted that he has joined our team. Rodrigues has more than 35 years of underwriting and management experience and has held positions with Axis Insurance, General Star Management Company, Safeco, and IRB. He is a member of both the California Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
